Our first big event of the tournament season is behind us, and we'd like to recognize the amazing work of one of its superstars, Hiroki Winter! The program at 527 might be new this year, but it's already taking names with Hiroki's 6-0  in the K-1 U400 section at the New York State Scholastic Chess Championship.

Hiroki has the highest ChessKid rating of any first grader in his program, and has been diligently attending the Grand Prix to prepare for tournament play. This kind of dedication creates champions, and we can't wait to see how he and his team take on the rest of this year's events.
