We are thrilled to introduce Leo Fleischauer as our Star Student for March.

Starting as a camper in our virtual summer program, Leo worked extremely hard as one of the PS 130 Brooklyn Lions and set ambitious goals for himself. He is not only enthusiastic about chess, but his dedication and commitment towards participating in after-school club lessons, attending Sunday park socials, and focusing on Chesskid.com activities also gave him that extra push of motivation.

After countless hours of training and self-study, Leo demonstrated excellence in recent tournaments such as the Brooklyn Cup 5, where he went undefeated with 3-0 and was titled Co-Champion.

Just this past weekend, Leo also performed in the PS 33 Hosted Team Tournament. With over 180 players playing across 18 schools, Leo again went undefeated with 4-0 in the u1000 section and tied for 1st place. This event also helped Leo earn his current peak ICN rating of 1000!

We know that Leo will continue to work hard and break new benchmarks as his chess career continues. It is our pleasure to see Leo continue to grow as a chess player. Best of luck moving forward.

Go Lions!
