November Report from the Director

Dear Chess Friends & Families,

Our fall competitive team season went into high gear this last weekend with our October Team Tournaments, at PS 130m in Manhattan and PS 230 in Brooklyn. Events were full of enthusiastic chess players across both our Saturday Grand-Prix and our Sunday Team Tournaments, with over 450 kids engaging in rated competitions on Sunday alone.

It seems as though the caliber of team energy goes up and up each year. This year, we struggled to find a child NOT wearing a team shirt, and the playing field was filled with the silent sounds of battle over hundreds of boards. And our November 19 Team Tournament registration is already open here:

Due to the strength of registration, for the November event we will be capping registrations at 300 (for Manhattan) and 250 (for Brooklyn).
